Hello beauties!! 🙂 In today’s post, I am going to show you what skincare products I use to achieve my beautiful and radiant glow during the winter months. Basically, I am just going to expand your shopping list, but hey, that’s what life is about, right? I also have been trying a new skincare brand that I absolutely adore and it doesn’t break the bank. If you want to read more about it, I will link the post at the bottom!
My skin type is more combination than anything else. I do, on occasion, get some dry patches and get oily in my t-zone. I also have rather red cheeks with texture. However, the longer I have been sticking to this skincare routine I have found that I don’t get as oily, don’t have any dry patches, and the texture on my cheeks is almost gone. My cheeks still get red sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me.
In the mornings, I use the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. I love this because is cleans without stripping my skin, however it does have mica in it, which I don’t love but it doesn’t seem to bother my skin.
At night, I use the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser to take off my makeup and clean my skin. This removes makeup quickly and leaves my skin feeling very clean and balanced. Plus is smells like a really fancy cucumber which rocks.
In the mornings, after cleansing my skin, I will spray the Mario Badescu Facial Spray all over. This has zero effect on how my skin looks or feels, but it smells really nice. I won’t be repurchasing after it is gone but I enjoy using it as a pick-me-up in mornings.
At night, I use The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. This is the best and cheapest glycolic toner I have ever tried. I used to use the Pixi Glow Tonic, but this has replaced it without a doubt.
In the morning I use The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% after toner and before moisturizer. This in combat with the glycolic toner has helped get rid of the texture I get on my cheeks.
At night I use the same serum as the morning, but if I notice I have a pimple forming, I apply a tiny amount of tea tree oil with a cotton swap on top of it. Tea tree oil is my favorite “zit cream” because it is the only thing that works without drying the bejesus out of my skin.
In the morning I apply The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. This serum I find gives me enough moisture for the day and doesn’t make my face an oil slick.
At night I use the same serum as the morning, but I will apply The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. This adds a little more moisture for the night so I wake up with plump and well moisturized skin.
Face Masks and Treatments:
This mask is what I use when my skin feels congested, I absolutely adore this mask. It helps the hormonal breakouts I get calm down and keep my skin gunk free. This is by far the best clay mask I have tried.
I use this about two times per week after the shower. You first apply and scrub in circular motions around the face, then leave it on for about 10 minutes to reap all the moisturizing benefits. This smells like summer and makes your skin feel like silk. I got the baby size in a set and had to buy the full size because I liked it so much. I usually just go in with moisturizer after I wash this off so I can get all kinds of hydrated.
I know this may sound a bit odd, but I like to use a specific type of cotton square, the Sheseido Facial Cotton. You are probably thinking that I am ridiculous, trust me I was the same way before I tried these cotton squares. They are so so so soft, thick, and the perfect texture. They never leave those weird little dots of cotton all over which is what sold me. If you haven’t ever tried these, you MUST.
As you may have noticed, all my skincare, with a few exceptions, is either from Fresh or The Ordinary. These brands are what I have found work for my skin. Although Fresh is rather expensive, I believe that each product is worth every single penny I spend on it. Each product lasts me a long time and has trustworthy ingredients that don’t irritate my skin. The Ordinary, as you know, is very inexpensive so the two kind of balance each other out.
Well, there you have it. You now know all my skin care secrets and I hope you have added a few things to your shopping list!
P.S. A review for The Ordinary’s Serum Foundation is coming next week!
