Hello beauties!! 🙂 Today’s post is going to be the unboxing and mini reviews of the products I received in this month’s Birchbox. If you don’t know what Birchbox is, it is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month, you pay $10 and receive 5 samples from a bunch different brands. You take a little test when you sign up to make sure everything that comes in your box is personalized around you, such as the colors and brands. I love to try out all the different kinds of products I receive and most times I really like them and put them on my list to purchase. If you are interested in joining Birchbox, I will leave a link at the end of my post so you can go and check it out! I will also leave all the products linked just like always so you can go purchase it if you want to!
P.S. I think I will be joining Ipsy soon , but I am not sure whether or not to keep going with Birchbox if I do. Let me know what you think I should do!!
The theme of this month’s box was to “GO BOLD” which, with the products I received, should be easy to do.
I also got a little card from Benefit with two promo codes to use in the shop. You can get a free sample of either the They’re Real Mascara or the They’re Real Push up Liner. Pretty awesome of Benefit to do that!
CODES– “REALLASHES” or “REALLINER”
The first sample I will be talking about is the Benefit They’re Real Mascara, which is $24 for the full size. I personally do not like this mascara. It is a little too crunchy on my lashes, and my lashes just look weird with it on. I do know that a ton of people like this mascara though. My cousin rocks this and her lashes look amazing every time, so whenever I get a sample of this mascara I go ahead and give it to her. I think this is still a really good sample because it is a good size and brand.
The second sample I will be talking about, is the Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint, which is $40 for the full size. A little pricey if I do say so myself. Again, I know a lot of people love this for Summer to get that glowy skin, but my skin is a little too oily for that. When I set it with a matte powder it worked for me and gave a gorgeous glow. I just can’t not set it. It had decent coverage, I would say light to medium, and the color worked OK for my skin. It was a little light, but I hadn’t updated my profile since April so I have gotten tanner. I would not purchase the full size of this however, I will probably look into the matte version because is looks very promising.
The third sample I will be talking about this month is the Coola Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Face Moisturizer, which is $32 for the full size. Now that is a little expensive for what it actually is. I do love the scent and consistency, it does not break me out, which is a relief. It also has SPF so it is great for summer. It is kind of a cross between a normal moisturizer and a gel moisturizer that is pretty awesome. It is very cool and refreshing to put on the face in the morning and gives just enough hydration to ensure your skin is staying plump. I really do like it. When I am in the market for a new moisturizer this will definitely be a candidate.
The fourth sample I will be talking about is the Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Leave-In Conditioning Mist, which is $22 for the full size. Words can’t explain how much I love this. It smells pretty much like the tears of everything that is good for your hair and makes it as soft as a baby’s butt. I am not even kidding. I also got a really good size to test out too, 3.3 fluid ounces. This has opened up my eyes to this brand and I can already tell you that the hair oil or hair mist will be mine once I go back to Ulta. It was love at first sight and smell. If your hair starts getting rowdy, check out this brand because it is heaven on Earth.
The fifth and final sample I will be talking about is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Venizia, which is $22 for the full size. The color is absolutely stunning. A bright coral pink. But it makes my teeth look yellow. The formula is OK. Not my favorite by far, but not terrible. I have to wear a lip balm underneath to make sure my lips aren’t terribly dry and it sinks into the lines of my lips. Doesn’t matter how light or thick of a coat I do there is always a gap where the lines are. When I smile, you can REALLY see those gaps. So if you are going to keep a resting face all day long, I would say go for it. I have a feeling that I would like it a lot better if the color worked better with my teeth.
