Good afternoon everyone!! Today’s post is going to be a “Is It Worth The Hype?” on the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper (find it here). A ton of hype has been going around this eyeliner in the Youtube world, so I thought I would try it out. I haven’t ever tried anything from Kat Von D either so I think I will definitely check out some of her other products. Let’s go ahead and get into the rest of the post!!

Price: $19 at Sephora

Packaging: I love the packaging of the Kat Von D products, it is very unique and fun. The packaging of the eyeliner is just plain matte black with silver lettering, but the font is really cool.

Amount: 0.02 fl oz or 0.55 mL (same as most liquid liners)

Claims (as found on Sephora’s website): “Achieve eye perfection with this high-pigment, waterproof liner that stays put all day for a fade-, melt-, crack-, and run-resistant finish. The superfine and flexible brush tip glides across the lashline for incredibly fluid application, allowing you to create a variety of looks with ease. Unlike traditional felt tip liners, this brush tip will not fray.”

Review: I never really wear eyeliner that much because I don’t like it smudging everywhere. But let me tell you, this eyeliner will stay on your eyes through anything. It will not smudge. I had this on my eyes one day during school, and there was a lot of rubbing my eyes (eww school) and it still looked perfect when I got home. I do not think it is entirely waterproof because I swatched it on my hand and rubbed it under running water and it did come off. But I don’t think you will be underwater and scrubbing your eyes so it’s all good. Also, the tip of the brush can get into the little spaces between your lashes so there is no weird space which I usually get with other liquid liners. I put some pictures at the bottom to show you some swatches before and after water. The bottom line is that this eyeliner lives up to its claims, which is very rare, and I will be wearing eyeliner more often now.

But one more question, Is it worth all the hype? —

Yes! I think you should definitely try this eyeliner out even if you are very skeptical (I was too).

Swatches of the different thickness you can achieve with the brush.
Swatches after being under running water.
Swatches after rubbing pretty hard under running water.
